Gas Price Solution

People believe what they want to believe...which is otherwise called wishful thinking. For many years the American People have spread rumors that the oil companies and auto makers control the price of gasoline. This manner of thinking completely ignores reality and in effect it permits people to stick their head in the sand and hope everything comes out okay! Reality, however, must be faced. Here's a fact that will bring it home to you. OF ALL HUMANKIND WHO HAVE LIVED SINCE CREATION..FROM ADAM AND EVE RIGHT DOWN TO YOU AND I...73% OF THEM ARE ALIVE TODAY, NOV 19 2005! Most of you will be smart enough to figure that out. It KO's all the folk who hide behind a belief that "THINGS HAVE ALWAYS WORKED OUT BEFORE"! We have never faced a world this populated before! There is talk of drilling for oil here at home. THE ONLY PLACE ON THE GLOBE WHERE OIL IS NEAR ENOUGH TO THE SURFACE TO MEET OUR FRANTIC RATE OF CONSUMPTION TODAY, IS THE MIDDLE EAST! To drill and pump oil in the U.S. to solve our problem, would be tantamount to "SUCKING OIL THROUGH A SODA STRAW AND SPITTING IT INTO YOUR GAS TANK! The only solution workable is one that nobody wants to hear. MAKE GASOLINE $5.00 PER GALLON AND KEEP IT THERE WITH A GAS TAX AUTOMATED TO KEEP IT AT THAT PRICE. Detroit would build more sensible cars...People would make more sensible use of their cars. The extra money collected during times of low oil price would go to build more refineries etc.
